Hello, My name is Steve (Y2C) the newest member to West Coast Chat, just begining in June 2001.
Our love for the sea began after we were married and purchased a boat and continued for the next 20 years.
Our experience in the Southern California waters from lakes and the ocean to San Diego, Catalina, Los Angeles and through the Santa Barbara channel brought us many pleasures. Due to a heavy business traveling schedule we decided to give up our personal vessel but missed the serenity of the ocean, hence the name Y2C (yes2cruising).
My wife and I took our first cruise in 1978, then in 1986 and are hooked, roughly 9 at present. We have sailed with Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity and scheduled with Holland America and Carnival. At present we hope to and so far accomplished two cruises a year and visit many countries and cultures. We enjoy the sea days the most, relaxing and taking in the ship board activities. Being pampered by the staff, as room service, food, making up the cabin, waiting on us as if we were royalty. Unpacking one time and the ship takes us to many areas on the glistening seas with gorgeous sunrise and sunsets. Unbelievable to dislike this adventure. We have also met many other passengers that we consider friends and correspond by e-mail.
My lovely wife Barbara and I live in Southern California and will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary this October. We have one daughter, 22, that is spoiled and we continue to keep her that way.
I work for a company based in St. Paul, Minnesota as a service engineer here in California. We provide support on digital imaging technology. I have been with this corporation for 32 years.
A friend told me about Cruise Mates approximately a year ago and have been here ever since. It is the friendliest group of people on a message board I have known. The posts and articles have been helpful in researching a cruise or just chat in the evening with all those that share the cruising experience.
If you are not taking a voyage, come to Cruise Mates Chat and get a cruise fix.
