All Uniworld suite guests on all European riverboats will be spoiled by butlers in 2016
Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection just upped the pampering for guests booked in suites on 2016 European sails. All suite guests on all riverboats will soon be spoiled by butlers. Currently, Uniworld offers in-suite butler service only on River Beatrice, S.S. Antoinette, S.S. Catherine, and S.S. Maria Theresa.
And these are no ordinary butlers (as in some ships, which put waiters and cabin attendants in tails and give them fancy names), but rather, butlers schooled in service under the tutelage of Zita Langenstein of England’s Ivor Spencer Butler School. This school turns out impeccably trained butlers. The sort that pop up in real life “Downton Abbey” and royal homes.
I’ve experienced shipboard butlers at both ends of the spectrum. Long ago I had a butler onboard Crystal Cruises who came from Buckingham Palace. I’ll never forget his tutelage on how to properly work with him. I’ll also never forget how a fantastic butler transforms a cruise from great to bucket-list-unforgettable.
Uniworld suite guests get many amenities unusual to riverboats. Each suite is decorated in a one-of-a-kind fashion. Those fabulous handcrafted Savoir® of England beds are de rigueur. Baths are elegant with Italian marble, heated towel warmers, and rain showers. Plus laundry and shoeshine service, in-suite breakfasts, Nespresso coffee machine (to which I’m addicted), and more make suite-booking worth reviewing.
If suites are not in the budget, check out Uniworld for cabin prices -especially when there’s a sale. I love that each Uniworld ship looks so different from the next. No cookie-cutters. There’s but 130 guests and so many luxurious amenities for all passengers, no matter the cabin category. (uniworld.com)
