A Cruise for Everyone

No matter your background nor your interests, there is surely a cruise vacation that will suit you.

Most people who have never been on a cruise tend to have a singular vision of what it is like. But by definition, a cruise is any voyage on a vessel that sails on water, and these days you can find cruises on any continent on earth including Antarctica.

If you have yet to consider a cruise for travel I strongly suggest that you start by erasing the image of large ships full of people sunbathing from your mind's eye. Whether you are an academic or blue collar, your interests are in technology, nature or civilization, young or old, single or married, there is a cruise out there for you.

Do you want to see the wonders of living nature up close? It is hard to imagine a more exhiliarating place than the Galapagos islands where Darwin and other early naturalists discovered many new species. Or Antarctica where the virtually fearless animals will surround you like you are one of their own.

If ancient history is your thing, a cruise to the Aegean Sea is perfect for you. Visit Crete and Delos, two islands brimming with original architecture spawned by thriving civilizations circa 1000 B.C. If you enjoy more recent history you can explore infamous World War II sites like the Normandy beaches and Berlin, or the still largely unchanged Iron Curtain countries of Russia, Albania, Croatia and Ukraine.

Those on a spiritual journey can explore the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, visit Egypt and the Sinai, or follow the steps of Paul from Jerusalem to Ephesus, Rhodes, and Rome. Looking for romance? Visit Monte Carlo, the Isle of Capri and Venice. Have an artisitic flair? A cruise down the Seine in France will have you visiting the homes of Van Gogh and Monet.

Or maybe you just want to relax and have some fun? Then go on a Caribbean cruise! It's just one of literally dozens of options out there for you. Not only are they vastly affordable right now, even for the entire family, they are fun, too. If you have never tried a cruise we guarantee you will be amazed at the food and service -- all included and at your beck and call. When you hear yourself saying, "I had no idea it would be like this," you will know you are one of the converted.

The holidays will be here before you know it, and it will be a great time to share the gift of a cruise. If there is a cruise lover in the family, the best thing about a holiday cruise is sharing it with a loved one. It makes the holiday's very special knowing there is a cruise is in your future - and that you will do the planning together. Or a romantic cruise for a loved one can also make a great birthday or anniversary gift.

By the way - September through December is an excellent time to take a cruise. Prices in the autumn are historically low, while January brings "wave season" which is a period when more people start to shop for cruises. Remember, the best prices are found on ships that have plenty of availability onboard, but once a ship starts to sell out the prices can go significantly higher quickly.

Travel agents are reporting historically low cruise prices for the autumn this year, so if you want to get the best deals you should shop early while you still have lower prices and the best options for your cruise choices.

Road Warriors

10 years ago a cruise was avacation you took to get away from it all - but today it is a perfcet cruide for people who want to travel but also still need to work. The Internet access on ships is stellar these days. Not only is it faster and more reliable than ever before, there are even cruise lines such as European river cruise lines like Viking River and and American small ship cruise lines like Blount Cruises which offer completely free Internet access throughout your voyage. So - it is completely posssible to travel around the world and stay in touch with the home office at the same time.

There is a cruise for everyone out there now. Just get on board and see what is possible.
