The first Rock Legends Cruise #1, which sailed last December on Legend of the Seas, featured ZZ Top, George Thorogood and the Destroyers ("Bad to the Bone" and "I Drink Alone"), Johnny and Edgar Winter, and Steppenwolf with John Kay - among many others. With over 20 bands, you could find a dozen different ways to quantify it as the biggest rock 'n roll cruise in history. It certainly required the largest cruise ship ever fully chartered for a music cruise; Royal Caribbean's 155,000-ton, 4000-passenger Liberty of the Seas.

Now - we were told that was the final lineup - but Rock Legends just can't seem to stop adding people, and we just got this announcement from the company this week:
Dear Rock Legends Cruise Fans... Ok, Ok... I know we SAID we had finalized the line-up, but ...... Well, we had a few more tricks up our sleeves that were already in the works. Now that things have REALLY been finalized (we're pretty sure!), we are pleased to announce the following additions to RLC II:
Bobby Keys & The Suffering Bastards Best known as the saxophone player for The Rolling Stones, Bobby Keys brings his own band onboard as a long-awaited addition to the line up! The Suffering Bastards include Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites), Steve Gorman (The Black Crowes), Michael Webb (John Fogerty, Poco), Chark Kinsolving (Mike Farris, Spoonful) and Nick Govrik (Trigger Hippy).
Fired Guns The band name may be new and unfamiliar, but we're sure you'll recognize the music of Mike Estes, Greg T. Walker, Charlie Hargrett and Kurt Pietro!
Mike Zito 2009 Blues Music award winner, Mike Zito (also playing with Royal Southern Brotherhood), is a renowned artist in his own right and has graciously agreed to rock us with 2 solo shows!
And a special Q & A session about the early days of Lynyrd Skynyrd with Bob Burns (original member) and Leslie Hawkins (original Honkette)
The Final Lineup? I was already more than satisfied with the previous lineup, but I will certainly watch Bobby Keys and the great players he has in his supporting band.
All together - the new lineup for the second Rock Legends Cruise II has 25 different bands. All together that will make for 70 different shows to be presented in the course of a four-night cruise. 70 rock & roll shows - shouldn't that qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records?
