Uniworld announces new Seine super ship for 2017

Joie de vivre (meaning “joy of life”) and France river cruisers go together like, well, croissants and jam. So how clever of Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection to announce a new super ship titled Joie de Vivre to sail Paris and Normandy beginning March 2017.

Among the many river cruise lines, Uniworld is heralded for its one-of-a-kind boats. No cookie-cutter ships here like most companies. Each ship has its own personality and design. Uniworld’s newest ships, dubbed super ships, are the most luxurious and have the most amenities. However, all Uniworld’s ships are known for pampering service, quality cuisine, and boutique style.

The 128-passenger Joie de Vivre showcases handcrafted furnishings with posh fabrics, antiques, art, and gilded and wrought-iron accents. (All Uniworld ships are designed by Red Carnation Hotels, a highly rated sister company with a similar design ethic.) The Salon de Beaux-Arts lounge is decorated with arts and antiques curated from top auction houses like Sotheby’s and Christie’s. Le Club l’Esprit has a theatre and surrounding pool with a hydraulic floor – it can turn into a dance floor or outdoor cinema at night. Besides signature Le Restaurant Pigalle, La Cave de Vins is designed for private dining and wine-pairing dinners.

For the two Royal and eight Junior Suites, each has its own design but shares notable amenities, such as butlers trained to Buckingham Palace standards. All suites and the 54 staterooms have custom-made high-end Savoir de England beds and marble baths. (In other words, there isn’t a bad cabin in the house.)

Joie de Vivre will sail the ever-popular Paris and Normandy itinerary. When in Paris, the super ships docks in the heart of the city. (In fact, the ship length is designed to meet that requirement.)

Uniworld cruises are packed with inclusives: scheduled airport transfers; gratuities onboard and ashore; port charges; meals with unlimited beverages including local wines, craft beers, and premium spirits such as Grey Goose; daily guided shore excursions with options to personalize; concierge services; 24-hour room service, and Wi-Fi. Couples can save up to $1,600.00 by paying in full before May 15, 2016. (uniworld.com
