Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Christmas and New Years cruises are still available for those who are looking, in fact, a surprising number of ships still have availability.
The best cabin selections are going quickly, however, so act sooner rather than later. The best deals are in the three and four-night cruises. You must leave on the eve of the holiday in most cases, but the price is right. if you want the luxury of being able to settle in on board a few days prior to the holiday, you need a longer cruise and the prices do go up.
Christmas: If you are still looking for Christmas season cruises, here is what I see: the 4-night Majesty of the Seas to the Bahamas leaving 12-24 still has openings, as does Sovereign of the Seas. Monarch of the Seas to Mexico (12-24) still has openings. Enchantment of the Seas has a 5-night cruise (12-24), Grandeur of the Seas has 5-night (12-24) leaving from Tampa. These are all Royal Caribbean and cost from $329 - $500 inside cabin.

Better options, because they leave a few days earlier: is Navigator of the Seas 5-night from Ft Lauderdale (12-22), Jewel of the Seas 6-night (12-23) from Ft Lauderdale, but these cruises are pretty pricey, from $859 - 1099 pp inside cabin. The shorter cruises leaving 12-24 are much more affordable.
7-night Christmas cruises include: Caribbean Princess (12-23) from Ft Lauderdale to the Eastern Caribbean still has balcony cabins available. Liberty of the Seas (12-22) from Miami to the Eastern Caribbean, Legend of the Seas (12-23) southern Caribbean from $1329, Mariner of the Seas from Port Canaveral (12-23), Grand Princess from Ft Lauderdale (12-22), Vision of the Seas to Mexico from Los Angeles (12-23), Golden Princess from Los Angeles to Mexico (12-22), Crown Princess from San Juan to Southern Caribbean (12-22), Adventure of the Seas from San Juan (12-23) and Legend of the Seas (12-23) from Santo Domingo.
New Years Eve: what could be better than ringing in the new year at sea? There are still plenty of openings but they will fill up, so book them now. The 4-night Majesty of the Seas from Miami (12-31) has open cabins at $519 pp. Sovereign of the Seas (12-31) from $429, Monarch of the Seas from Los Angeles (12-31) from $429.
Better options because they leave a few days earlier: Empress of the Seas (12-28) 5-night cruise fron San Juan, Enchantment of the Seas (12-29) 5-night from Fort lauderdale and Grandeur of the Seas (12-29) 5-night leaving from Tampa. radiance of the Seas has a 6-night cruise (12-30) from Ft Lauderdale.
7-night New Years Eve cruises include: Freedom of the Seas (12-30) 7-nights from Miami to the Eastern Caribbean. It's pricey. but oh what fun! inside: $1849; oceanview: $2949; balcony: $3529. Legend of the Seas (12-30) southern Caribbean from $1299, Vision of the Seas from Los Angeles to Mexico (12-30) from $1099. Dawn Princess to Mexico (12-30) has balconies for $1394 (best deal on ship). Serenade of the Seas from San Juan (12-29).
All the above are samplings. For more exotic holiday vacations consider Tahitian Princess, 10-night south Pacific from Tahiti (12-20 Christmas or 12-30 New Years) starting at just $1499 pp.
Best of all, covering both holidays with one cruise: the 12-night Brilliance of the Seas Panama Canal cruise (12-21) from Miami. Interior $2749 Oceanview $2849 Balcony $4049 Suite $7649.
