In the Southern Caribbean, you are dealing with a variety of countries. Some, I would carry the original with me, others, like the Dutch Antilles, I take a copy. Not an expert on this, just what I do to ensure my comfort level. Venezuela is one where I took the original, but we can't go there anymore, so it's not relevant.
