Correct and correct. "Tragic" is properly measured in many ways, of which the body count is only one. In the present case, there is the ongoing threat of an environmental catastrophe, which is a legitimate continuing story.

I pay close attention to the news, and I can go for weeks without hearing a word about Mexico, one way or the other--if you exclude the immigration issue.
