The first time I went to Cozumel I went to the ship recommended Playa Mia. It was second rate. There were four times the number of people as at Playa SanFrancisco. It was very crowded. The lounge chairs were at gound level and very difficult to get in and out of. There was a $10 admission fee.
Playa SanFrancisco was much less crowded with no admission cost. They used regular chaise lounges. They did have rentals of equipment but I don't remember what kind.
