Default Flightseeing Excursion with Landing at Misty Fjords????

I'm looking for a flight or helicopter tour in Ketchikan that lands in Misty Fjords allowing for a walk around. I've looked over my list of excurions provided by my cruise ship and while they do list flights touring over Misty Fjords, the only landing is by sea plane on a lake and it only allows you to step out on the plane's floats. Does anyone know of a flightseeing tour over Misty Fjords that provides a 15 to 30 minute landing for a walk around? If so, which vender?

Micelle of Island Wings does nice MIsty Fjords tour in which she lands on a lake and you taxi to small island for short break and photos. Otherwise most flts only have the landing and standing on pontoons. I think Southeast Aviation does it both ways.

Island Wings and Southeast Aviation do allow you out of the planes on some trips. There were increased restrictions placed on permit landings last year. But the landings are usually on a big "rock" island with not to far to go.

If you want hiking, then contract for that, available below. http://islandwings.com/foh.html

Last December I went with Family Air, out of Ketichikan and had a very good flight. Dave did a good job. We were lucky and unlucky to have a perfectly clear day. It was lucky because we went spent more time in the glaciers but unlucky because the Misty Fjords weren't too "misty".

We were able to land on a gorgeous lake and walk around for a good 20 minutes. The landing over the waterfall was beautiful. This picture was taken there. I apologize for the quality. My white balance was messed up on the camera at the time.

Island Wings and Southeast also have great reputations. I don't think you will have any problems finding a good alternative.

Take care,
