Default "Top of Vancouver" revolving restaurant - anyone b

I will be in Vancouver for the first time, before i leave on my first ever cruise. We planned to have dinner at the "Top of Vancouver" revolving restaurant which is in the same building at the "Vancouver Lookout" tower overlooking Canada Place. I just did a google search and read a bad review of the revolving restaurant - stating they cater to the tourists and have a captive audience - no reason to be any better. We dont want to spend $30 on a dinner entree and ahve it be bad.

Has anyone on these boards ever been to the "Top of Vancouver" revolving restaurant???? Any comments on the place and the food.

You will love Vancouver!!! Beautiful city!
We stayed at the Pan Pacific last week before our cruise and 3 couples that we met on the ship(Carnival Spirit) had eaten there the night before. They weren't impressed with the food. Said it was very expensive for what they had eaten.
Just a suggestion, save the price of the meal and do another excursion when your cruise gets started. You can eat a fancy meal anywhere...how many times do you go to Alaska!!!

Unfortunately you are now paying for the view & location. I used to go there frequently but in the last few years their quality has gone down and as we have a multitude of excellent restaurants here in Vancouver there is no need to go to a less than great restaurant when we eat out.

Try "The Cannery" on commissioner Street if you want great seafood - it is located right on the water with great views out over the harbor.

For something different try "The Stone Grill" on Granville Street it is located on the shore of False Creek with a nice view over the water to Granville Island and of the Burrard Street Bridge.

The above are only 2 of our many great restaurants
