My wife and I are on the HAL 14 day cruise/tour in June and she has asked me if they have hair dryers available in the land accomodations and onboard the ship. My offer to buy her a hat got me a dirty look.

Our Cabin (it was an "S" suite on the Zaandam) had a hair dryer but according to my wife it was really weak so on our first port she went to a drug store and bought one. She was in the dressing area and tried the new dryer and an alarm went off and the bridge called asking what we were doing. She was told to use the dryer in the main part of the room after that. The first time she tried it, with the slider to the balcony opened, at the exact second she flicked the "on" switch the fog horn blared! She almost had a heart attack!
