Yes, it’s the Hyatt place. I see the free shuttle is only until 12:00 pm oh well. Still the Embassy suites were $250.00 with tax and the Hyatt is $158.00 with tax. I’m not too sure if this is high for this place, it will be Thanksgiving weekend so I was expecting to pay a little more. One of the gals going is driving down from Tampa so maybe we'll work it out where she picks us up from the airport. I don't mind $8.00 - $10.00 pp for a shuttle to the cruise port. The gal driving is planning on doing a one way rental each way so she won’t have to pay for parking during the cruise. I’m not too sure how it will work out but I’m happy were close to the port. Have you stayed there before?
It's interesting that when you go to Hyattplace.com. two Fll lcations come up...Ft lauderdale North and Ft Lauderdale south. I can bet some people think they are staying by the port, when they may be in Dania, but you have to read the address to realize it..some may not know....the south gives free cruise parking.
Krunch, for Pier 66, that's a great deal..a few bucks more then we paid for that hotel back in the early 90's.....last year we got The Renaissance down the street for $59.00 per night..I am going to try that again after checking for biddingfortravel.com to see if that rates is floating around again for late Oct..yay for you!
I bid on PRICELINE and won the Renaissance hotel on 17th Street for $63 per night for 6-nights last week, The Password for FREE WiFi is "SouthEast", until they change it
They have a basket of fruit in the gym in the mornings and limited mini refrigerators upon advance request. .
We stayed at the Rodeway Inn the night prior to our cruise .The shuttle from the airport to the hotel was free as was the shuttle from the hotel to the cruiseport .
A full breakfast was included in the price of the room .Dealing direct with the hotel I paid $71 +tax and had a wonderful room.
We are staying at the Rodeway Inn after our cruise next week for "Day Use" for only $50. With the free port pick up and shuttle to the airport that's a great deal.

Sorry I just saw your post. While we were on the Oasis we met another couple who stayed there so we felt better to try it. We also told another couple with a late flight so they too booked it while on the ship. They picked us up about 30 minutes after we called. Our thoughts (and theirs) it was a good place for the day, great value but we would never stay overnight. They have a restaurant on property, good food and very friendly employees. The pool was good but the rooms were a little dirty; next to the nightstand and under the beds, bathroom was ok. We even found items left in the dresser. They got us to the airport on time. It would be a great place with a little clean up.
We are considering staying again in October after our cruise. We are staying again 1 night before the cruise at the Hampton Inn, Airport North on 12th Street. We hope they can give us a day deal when we return because of our late flight. They also have a shuttle service (flamingos on the van roof ) and will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius and a free breakfast for $130. If you consider $40 in taxi to and from & $20 for breakfast then that would be a room for $70. Not too bad. If they can't help us then back to the Rodeway Inn for the day. I hope this helps.

I was just thinking if you just needed a day hotel rather than paying $50, at least you get a free shuttle?
lastminutetravel.com works like hotwire. I used it twice last fall and got 5 star Intercontinental in Miami for $84 (no shuttle so I took the $2 city bus lol), when it would have cost over $300 to book direct. This site seems to only have deals in S. Florida. ... just offering another option. This was the only site that had the hotel at this price too. (unnamed).
I did book the $36 hotel too, and if its terrible, I have not lost much right? I also figured out which hotel it was (went to Expedia and matched up the picture) and read the reviews on tripadvisor before I committed to booking the hotel. (last 2 who wrote reviews said they were pleasantly surprised and that the hotel was being remodeled). Ill let you'all know how a $36 hotel worked out. .. including the shuttles both directions. Sounded like a steal to me with the shuttles.
I also found a few others in the Dania area especially that had shuttles both directions yesterday when I was booking and looking for hotels with shuttles both ways. .. just another option. No offense meant. Just saw that someone paid $50 for a day hotel and offering a idea was all.
None taken at all I have used Hotwire, Priceline, and another one, which I honestly forget the name of. Several years back, I was able to get Amerisuites, now Hyatt Place, for $42.00! I had stayed there before, so it was a deal.
Once, again, many years back, I had booked the Bahia Cabana, I walked in,and walked out, lost my deposit, and booked another hotel..it was an oh my! On the other hand with Priceline I got the Renaissance for $79.00. loved that one.
I find, with so many hotels, of all different price points, in such close proximity to the port, Dania is really out of the way. But everyone has their own pov, and that's a good thing. Let us know how that hotel worked out.

Red Carpet is in Ft. Lauderdale close to the port and airport (in fact some did complain about the noise of planes overhead, but Ill be out of the room early to go to the port).
I did look on the Red Carpet site and booking the room direct for the same night would cost $100. plus 11% tax. It also says it includes a restaurant and bar on the premises who will do room service.
I plan to tip the shuttle drivers well to make up for them giving me such a good deal.

Always good to read other's experiences. We are the ones who paid $50 for the day hotel and it was truly worth it for the day. They picked us up at the port and later took us to the airport. That would have cost us $40 in cab fares, so we rationalized the room only cost us $10 for 7 hours! We did tip the driver generously. We were able to swim, have a nice lunch, nap and rearrange luggage for flying. The reason we chose Rodeway over Red Carpet was because of the reviews on TripAdvisor. Also Rodeway was ranked 43/136 while Red Carpet was 102. Please post your experience when you return. Have a wonderful cruise.

I have two cruises to Ft. Lauderdale and my cruise roomie booked the hotel. I think she thought I objected to Super 8 she found with shuttles, so she booked us here I just found out. This is the hotel up next. (the $37 hotel is one Im staying at solo later this fall).

I have stayed there three times and I recommend it. They have a free shuttle and a complimentary breakfast. They also have a nice pool.

Finally time this Friday for my $37ish hotel thru lastminutetravel, (blind hotel was Red Carpet Airport). Last two reviews positive, mentioning the free friendly airport and port shuttle. Others still saying the restaurant on the premises is good. One guy complained about the two free computers in the lobby not being updated.. good to know there are two computers for personal use once I get there!!
Dinner on the premises, computers for my use and a bed, all I need for one night when I get into Ft. Lauderdale the night after Thanksgiving. I dont plan on walking around the neighborhood. My cruise roomie is not flying in until Saturday, the day of the cruise, so its just me, one night. I still figure the free shuttle is worth the price Im paying.
We stayed at the Rodeway Inn the night prior to our cruise .The shuttle from the airport to the hotel was free as was the shuttle from the hotel to the cruiseport .
Surprise!!! Turns out Rodeway Inn is right next door to Red Carpet, that people warned me about. Looks pretty similar to me in quality. I am now on one of the free computers in the lobby of Red Carpet. I also walked into the sports bar next door that is in the Rodeway, to see if it had a better dinner menu than the restaurant at Red Carpet, and yes, it had a few cheaper alternatives. Nothing less than $9.95 at the restaurant here, but all reviews said this restaurant was good. Not fancy for sure, but the free airport and port shuttle go a long way in my book for the price I got it at. And everyone has been very nice.
there is a shopping area and you could ride a shuttle to the beach and
at some of the pick up locations you could get a ride right to the hotel
for your return from the beach. lots of places to eat within walking distance from the hotel also.
