Any recommendations on activities on Thursday Island? Ship is not offering much in the way of excursions so looking for local expertise.
thanks,
Marc

I had a look at Wikapedia's entry for Thursday Island and it looks like the only interesting thing on this 3.5 square kilometre Island is the Library for the Torres (sp?) straight!!?
Lovely beaches but you might have to share them with a few friendly salties! (aka man eating crocodiles) Thursday Island is very pretty, very hot, but not much to see....maybe go to the pub for a beer!

Thanks for the advice; we look forward to our visit in February!

We went to Thursday Island, also just called T.I. here, on Seabourn and only had a very short time there because of the tides, think about 4 hours..... Probably the "only" touristy thing is a small museum.....a drink with the locals would be more fun!

I don't know why Regent keeps going to Thursday Island; I think a stop in Port Moresby would be more interesting.
