Default rough seas in east Caribbean

My daughter just returned from a cruise in the eastern Caribbean and said the seas were very rough. Has anyone cruised these waters in the last two weeks? We are cruising on the Glory on 3/5/05. Hopeing the seass are a little calmer.

We were on the Jewel from Ft. Lauderdale for the Eastern 8 night cruise on 1-29-05. The seas were definitely very rough. The days at sea from Ft. Lauderdale to San Juan were very rough, and the nights seemed even rougher. Many people were talking about how rough it was. Said was the roughest they had experienced, and this was our first time in jan/feb. We had cruised last March 1, 2004 on the Majesty out of Miami over to Nassau, and it was a very smooth ride. I think by your cruise, it will have settled down quite a bit.

I had the sea bands and with it that rough, I also took the myclizine from the pursers desk. They also say pure ginger really helps too. I would take it with me, just to be on the safe side. Then you won't need it!

Have a great cruise!

How about the end of May/early June out of New York to San Juan and that area?

The seas can be rough ANYTIME. Weather is weather and you can't book a certain week because the seas are guaranteed to be calm.

A good weather site is wunderground.com. Forecasts, previous months (and years) weather conditions, etc.

It would be wonderful if we could order perfect weather for our cruises. Mother nature just doesn't always cooperate with us.

I always take motion sickness meds. while at sea because you never know when the seas may become rough. I have a friend out to sea this week. I'll ask her how the weather was when she returns.
