tips on sail nd sign card, put on amex card at end of cruise

I think i understand the tipping situation. ok so they put the tips on the sail and sign card before we even get on the ship and we can deduct or add to them at the end of cruise. then when it is time to pay, can we just put the total on our amex. card and have it billed to us on our regular statement? the bottom line we do not want to bring all that cash with us for the tips. the only cash we want with us is for shopping, excursions, etc. i have read so m any responses on this tipping that i am trying to figure it out. please help and thanks.

It is really not that complicated. You can (a) pre-pay when you book the cruise; (b) pay on board the ship. If you opt for (b), the tips will automatically be added to your S&S account at the start of the cruise. You can then either (1) leave them there, and settle the account at the end of your cruise with your credit card or with cash; (2) remove the tips completely, and pay them in case at the end of the cruise; (3) leave them on and adjust them up or down, and still pay them through you S&S account.

The options are all clearly spelled out in your docs and on the Carnival website.

If you do nothing the tips will automatically be billed to your sail and sign card, and then billed to Am Ex (or whatever credit card you give them to use at check in).
