I know this may sound weird but I actually won my cruise and had no idea until today where I'd be at on the ship. I'm on the Riviera Deck with an oceanview cabin. Am I like right by the water? Or am I still pretty high up? I know that may sound silly but I'd like to know. It seems I'm pretty far from the night life but am I going to hear ships motors, etc? Thanks for helping out the newbie guys.
Did you receive a booking number? If you have one, Google Carnival and register on their site. You will get tons of info, plus give you lots of questions for us to answer.
You are on the bottom of rooms, for guests, but not on the bottom of the ship. You also have rooms above you, so the noise should be limited. The Glory is a favorite for many people, plus it is the sister ship of other ships, so you shouldn't have any problems getting answers.
You're in a Cat 6A cabin. That's the lowest level ocean view, but you could have been assigned to a Cat 4 which is an inside stateroom w/o windows. We've cruised Cat 6A before and loved it. We've cruised Glory before and really, really, really, loved it!!! The advantage to the higher decks is the view. You'll be ridin elevators up/down cept for the lifeboat drill and debarkation. The disadvantage is the higher yah go the more motion you'll sense. Same goes for futher fore/aft of mid-ship. If yer sailin 12/9/06, bang on cabin #8404's door and we'll buy yah a drink.
