Default Cabin safes

I have been on several Carnival Ships and you needed to use a credit card to open your safe in the cabin. I will be going on the Triumph in March. Wondering if it works the same way. Also if it do, I am traveling with some people that do not have a credit card. Any suggestions????

all it requires is a card with a magnetic strip. That could be a Costco card, gym memberships... whatever.

Hi Bella; As usual, Kuki got it right. What the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and I normally do, is take a card that has a mag strip, but won't be any great loss, if it's lost (not a credit card of any kind). As Kuki said, any card will work as long as it's got a mag strip on it. (ie: health club card, Sams Club card, id card from insurance etc)

Have a great cruise,

Marine, Pilot, Singer, Tuba Player, Carnival "Diamond"!

You are supposed to be able to only use one card for the safe. (Sign and Sail is not recommend). The safe is supposed to recognize one card. BUT this is how I get around it. I’ve used the same two (2) cards for 4 years now. I use old canceled Bestbuy Cards, (any 2 cards should do) but they must have the same account number on them. That way you can carry one and someone you trust can have another, incase you have to go back to the cabin at different times. They have not fail yet.

I have VOID printed on them with a Sharpie and keep them in what I call my travel box with other items that I may need or want to take with me.

Hope this helps
