Default room service to go?

the lady in my apt building told me she cruises a lot - and she told me that on excursion days they order room service sandwiches, pack it in a small collapsible cooler and take the food along to eat on their excursion. Is that something that excursion hosts will allow? I'd love to do this for the Freeport glass bottom boat and Nassau boat ride to the Atlantis resort. Though we'll be back on board both days in time for lunch, it would be nice to being along snacks rather than have to buy (for more $$) on shore. Comments?????

I've never ordered room service sandwiches to take off the ship but I have brought onboard those individually wrapped peanut butter crackers and cheese and crackers that you can purchase in the grocery store and cookies (for my grandson) in case he needs a snack before we return to the ship.

The cruise ships will not allow any food brought back on board. One lady in Key West who was walking in front of us had 8 styrofoam containers of food that she had just purchased and they would not allow her to bring them on the ship. She was VERY angry and vowed to sit on the dock and eat every bite of what was in the containers.

It's too bad she was not on this message board....I didn't know that ship rule either but of course, now I do! I have learned so much here! btw I take granola bars and a bottle of water everywhere I go and that was allowed both on and off the ship...and I promise I am older than your grandson!
