Default How Much Money For The Deposit?

I have received an e-mail with questions about cruising. I have asked and been given permission to post those questions, so that everyone could be involved. I will post each one on a different thread.

When booking a cruise through 1-800 Carnival, how much of a deposit is required? We paid the cruise in full this last time when we booked, but we'll not be able to do that this time.
I have never booked through Carnival, since I have always used a TA, but I would think that the deposit would be the same. It is usually 500.00 per cabin. Sometimes if you book a group cruise, the deposit is lowered, as an incentive to book.

Okay, What about the rest of you? What has been your experience is deposits?

$250.00 PP and for the additional 3rd. or 4th. person its the same but has to be a 7 day cruise and this is for all Cabins! , and you have until July to Pay Off the whole cruise if you dont do it when you book! I booked in Feb. and paid $500.00 Down for me and DW, and we pay as we go! Also They Give a Military Discount as well! We will pay the final payment July the 20th. but you have until the 31st. Hope this helped!

When I've booked through Carnival, and when the cruise is 7 days or longer we've paid $250.00pp so yes it's would be $500.00 a cabin, or couple. The shorter cruises 3-5 days the deposit is less.

In the recent past we have paid $250 per person for a Carnival seven day cruise. These cruises were booked through an internet travel agency. It is also $250 pp for the third/fourth person in a cabin. It is less for cruises under 7 days and more for Alaskan cruises and cruises over 7 days. On our group cruise booked for 9/07 I noticed the deposit was also given as $250 per person. I am fairly certain that Carnival sets the rate for all the deposits. The exception would be for group rates where it may or may not be the same.

Texas Cruiser--Those military discounts that Carnival offers are the best!

The deposit will always vary depending on the length of the cruise.

Occassionally, if the cruise is a long way off the cruise lines will run specials for a lower deposit for specific sailings.

Princess Cruise Lines for example, every once in awhile, run reduced deposit specials on all their sailings.

TEXAS CRUISER;
That is for a 1-a Gar. on a 5 day cruise. That is with the Mil disc. Hoping for an upgrade, but willing to stay in the 1-a if thats what we get. This makes for a very cheap cruise. We booked in Mar. it has gone up $30 pp since.

Great Deal, did you Book directly through Carnival? If you did you have to contact them for the upgrades or Price Drops! They wont contact you, just stay ontop of it! Heres their number 1-800-438-6744 I use Rachel Mandel shes a cruise vacation specialist and doesnt charge you for her Services if you booked through Carnival, her extension is 34937 shes there all this week!

Robert;
I used a PVP at Carnival. I don't see the price dropping much for this cruise, but I keep watching the price. I couldn't get this good of a price from any TA that I contacted. Is the lady you are talking about A PVP? Or is she a TA? Just curious. I will always do my research and book with the best price that includes all of the fees. I also want to feel secure with who I am using. I really like my PVP she has booked my last two cruises. Thanks for the info.
