Half Moon Cay

I will be sailing the Liberty next July stopping in Half Moon Cay. I have read on the boards about the lunch buffet . . . my question is, is the buffet free since it's a private island or do you pay for it as you would in any other port?

The buffet is free, just as though it was on the ship.

Half Moon is imho the nicest of all the private islands, so you're in for a great day!

We were there last November. Half Moon Cay is beautiful. There was lots of food at the buffett, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, side salads, desserts. You will enjoy it.

We visited HMC during our cruise on the Elation, 3/31/07. It is very beautiful and the best beach that we have visited. The lunch is served on the island so you can enjoy the full day on the beach. Be sure to be up early to watch your arrival, it is worth it!

Thanks to all who replied! I can't wait for this stop. This is my girls (8&6) first cruise and they are excited to just go to the beach. I'm thinking of trying to get a cabana that day ~ any experience there?

The Cabana's looked nice. I think you get your own personal attendant. Seems like it was expensive for one, but it's for up to 4 people and included the attendant and of course the cook-out.

i've read that there are two cabana excursions. one with the cabana for 4 people and food, the other with food, a cook and about 12 people. anyone know the price for the 4 people excursion?

You will love Half Moon Cay. We have been to many Caribbean beaches and this one if one of the most beautiful. The water is crystal clear and totally gorgeous!!!
