Kuki's standup comedy routine video onboard Fantasy
Here is the video of Kuki's debut as a standup comic. Kuki (Morris Blitt) performed this original stand-up comedy routine as part of his research on different cruise ship jobs for CruiseMates. Kuki has never performed comedy before, let alone in front of almost 1000 audience members in the Carnival Fantasy showroom during the John Heald Blogger's Cruise 2 sailing out of New Orleans. OMG! That was funny! LOL
I only wish I'd been there to see that live! Way to go Kuki, you've got guts! donna |
I do not beleive it! I transitted the Canal last Monday under a full Moon--check your lunar tables if you don't believe me. And I saw no antlers so it could not have been Kuki!
Honestly, that was hilarious! I'd like to have seen it see it without the strategically placed hiccups. I feel the same way about flying. And since I now move on, essentially, four legs, those aisles are just too narrow for me to negotiate when physiology calls. So I prepare for flying pretty much the same way guys prepare for their annual "deep space probe"--nothing by mouth after midnight. That means by the time I get aboard the ship, I'm ready for lunch! |
Ok Shecky, I just watched it, and, did you use your old screen name, because you are going into the witness protection program?:) You did so good!!
|
While Kuki's hilarius monologue was delivered at the "midnight hour" on the cruise ship, allowing him to go mildly blue if he wished, this message board is prime time so I made the decision to err on the side of caution and placed the sound effect over certain words.
|
Thanks Paul! I forgot about it "playing" on the message boards.
We're in NOLA for two days, then off to Antigua to join Silversea's Silver Shadow, for a 17 night virtual cruise report. Hope the airline I'm flying doesn't watch the video LOL Our hotel room wasn't ready, so we went wandering through "the quarter", with "brunch" at Mothers. Our timing was perfect... a short wait when we got there, but a line out the door by the time we left. |
Kuki, That was a wonder first time stand up act! How brave you were to stand up like that! I'm a writer so I do poetry readings all the time, but I know I've never read my work in front of a crowd of hundreds!
Now I'm thinking of contacting Carnival and seeing about doing a poetry reading when I cruise Imagination in 13 months. Should I just want until I'm on board and contact the CD about doing a reading in one of the small lounges? Have you ever seen a poetry reading or any kind of reading by a published author on a cruise? Thanks! |

There certainly are some lines who use enrichement lecturers; authors and such. |
Kuki,
Thanks for sharing this comedy thingy....Man ..you have got Guts !!! I can imagine getting weak in the knee's out there....Can you imagine how John has refined his act over the years....I wonder what his first show was like....anyway..CONGRATULATION's BRAVO !!!!! Mark,Mandy and Catie |
Marc,
I was expecting to see you "the weather girl" & Catie there. Disappointed that we didn't get to torment the casino staff together. I was so nervous doing "the act" my butt cheeks were sqeezed together LOL |
Kuki:
So great to get to meet you. And I am sooo glad that Paul put your performance on here. David and DJ got to hear you but I did not....until now...and I am glad I did!!! Folks who have never been on stage have no idea just how much courage it takes to get up there and perform. Just remember...practice...practice...practice. To sing a song properly on stage, it takes rehearsing it 500 times ( I am not kidding)....comedy delivery is the same way.... keep it up!!! (the comedy...get your mind out of the gutter) I am glad you went with the airline humor...because it is definately something we can ALL relate to. Enjoy your next cruise..... |
%&*!#@ dial up !!
That what I have dial -up....talk about SLOW. Anyway I finally did hear the show. Very funny....way to go Kuki LOL |
Toth... my apologies to you, and everyone else on dial up.
But glad you enjoyed it, though god knows why. |

I could relate to the comedy skit due to the fact that I don't enjoy airports/air travel any longer. Whoever configured the seating area of Boeing 767's didn't realize that some of us are taller than 6 feet tall. I always seem to get behind some putz who wishes to recline his seat into my lap, crushing my knees in the process. Then he complains that I "keep kicking his seat waking him up". Airports tend to forget that some of us wish to eat AFTER picking up our luggage which by the way is outside the secure area. :-? |
THOTH:
When are we going to cruise together????? I have sailed with Mehawk, Kuki, Snoozeman, etc..... but no THOTH! :( We must correct this oversight!!!! Linda (Mom of DJ on the Blog) |

I do have two booked for this year....Holiday in April, and Triumph for September. Come join me ! |
Well done Kuki....
It took a lot of guts to do what you did on stage that night! You were great and I admire your courage and conviction to write your own material and present it on stage to an audience - as you did!
On a 'private' note, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you and Mrs K - both pre-cruise at the Beacon of Hope Day as well as on board the ship. Your insights into the cruising industry were very interesting.......and will assist me for many years to come. Both Ann and I look forward to cruising with you again soon. In case you have not seen the photos of the pre and cruise, then check out: http://gallery.me.com/earthlight920#100326 Enjoy......and best regards, |
Hey Norman!
Pleasure to meet you and Ann!! And thanks for the kind comments about my "show". I had to be Kuki to even attempt it :) I went directly to Silvesea for a Panama Canal cruise, and just got home Saturday, so no chance to catch up yet. Hopefully we'll see you and the hats at sea again soon! |

I haven't quite caught up to like as I broke my toe on the 2nd day back. But I did read yesterday that you'd lost your father, and I do want to offer my condolensces. I lost mine in Nov. so I do know how tough it can be for you and the family now. |

Now to kill time until I can sail on the Fantasy again in November. Dave |
