11 minutes was before 50 flights of stairs for muster drill. Oops - that only added a couple of minutes. Besides - I'm already fat.

Still have the old pizza, including goat cheese

The new dining room tables

and where the 11 minutes came from (will have to do better but still have hours left today).

Ran into a cruising buddy tonight - Bob ("Memories of Naked Fanny") aka Kokomo Man. He's on his honeymoon ?!?!? A daughter and her husband are also on the cruise. Planning on switching to their dining table.

Have uploaded a couple of pages from today. The bulk of pictures taken this afternoon will take a while to process. Maybe today or not.

Tonight is Elegant night - should be interesting!

Zydeco,

Do they dress the table for dinner? They rolled out American table after our last Carnival cruise.

No tablecloths at dinner, even on Elegant night on Imagination. On Glory, they do use tablecloths on Elegant nights, but not casual nights.

Inspiration and Liberty do have American Table and tablecloths every night.

None of the test ships have the exact same menus.

Carnival is trying multiple variations and I guess will eventually merge them into one.

Still on Carnival Imagination - only 2 more American Table dinners left and so far they have been excellent.

I still have to obtain and post the really current menus (they changed for this cruise), but soups and salads have been expanded and they did away with the Selections to Share portion (or whatever it was called). I never did get why people objected to that - you could always order individually.

No worries, the calamari and others are still there, but are listed with the other items.

I will try to upload the dinner pictures from tonight and tomorrow night, if enough Internet minutes are left. Really wish Carnival would roll out unlimited Internet packages.

The home page for the cruise is here:
Zydecocruiser does Carnival Imagination - April 27 - May 1, 2014
Many of the pictures from Catalina are missing, but pages 1,2, and 7 should be there, with 7 having Elegant night dinner.

Haven't uploaded any pictures from Ensenada but went to the Blow Hole and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. Besides the blow hole, there are lots of vendors, but also some good food and more. A few of the vendors actually make many of the products they sell. I even got to be up close and persoanl with a leopard! Pictures to follow.

First night dinner pictures should be on this page:
Carnival Imagination Cruise, Long Beach Embarkation - Wed, Apr 27, 2014, Page3

Almost time to eat again.

Enjoy!

You're welcome. Probably by Thursday night I'll have a lot more pictures uploaded and will try to get the current menus uploaded Friday or maybe Saturday.

Enjoy your cruise! I've been enjoying this one.

Still on Carnival Imagination, but the meanies are about to make me disembark. I am comforted by looking at the menus and food porn:

This was the first cruise with the latest American Table menus - no more for the table selections (which you could order individually), on Carnival Imagination.

Anyway, enjoy!

I think the ship is fine and in great shape. The staff was very friendly and eager to please. I keep debating whether I want to try it again in a couple of weeks before the summer pricing fully kicks in.

If not, maybe in October. We already have a couple of cruises in September.

If you had a specific question?

Default Carnival Imagination

Thank-you for your great posts zydecocruiser. I will be cruising solo on this ship June 1. Hoping to find other solo cruisers on board to share the fun! Not afraid to cruise alone but making new friends is always a plus. Happy cruising, Yamaha

You're welcome. There are always singles on cruises and Inspiration and Imagination are two of the ships that often have cabins with no single supplements, so they might have even more than normal.

Check the Fun Times - there should be a singles event and some bars with discounted drinks at times.

Enjoy your cruise!

Smile Just got off the Carnival Imagination

We just got off this very cruise. First of all let me say you are smart for picking your date for this cruise. School will be back in session and there should be less kids and teenagers. We had 750 kids on this week. They were mostly prevalent at the Pool and café areas. Some did get cranky. Most seemed to be cranked up on sugar.
We enjoyed the food in the dining room the best. We were on the my time plan and found that if we went when they opened we got seated right away and the service wasn't so hectic. When we tried to go to dining in first couple of hours after they opened then we would be given a pager and had to wait 30 - 45 minutes before being seated. Then we missed the first 2 nights of shows.
If you love to sing, there are plenty of opportunities. The best is on the night that you have a real band playing for you. The host - Sean - was great. He remembers your name right away and loves spinning the music.
There are many chances for portraits to be taken of all different backgrounds. The photographers are excellent. I recommend you try many backgrounds, to find the perfect ones for purchase. I was amazed at how many backgrounds and Photographers there were. But they are there for you doing their job. I should have used their service more.
When the ship was in port or when a special event like Bingo was going on, where the crowds flock to, was when we took the opportunity to get in the hot tubs.
Maybe September will be better though.
The ship was comfortable. We slept very well. Gained 5 pounds. But that will be taken care of once home. We had a great Room Steward, a great cruise director. All the staff were nice.
Oh we did find that the ship was cold. So be sure to prepare for that.
Have a good trip.
M n O

"M n O"...Thanks for the Information. We always like to cruise "Off-Season". Never during "Hurricane Season". We find the better cruises and bargins that way too, and almost no kids. Thank you for the Insight about the Carnival imagination. We always chose "Early Dinning"...and then go to the shows. Then we would just kick back, have a few drinks then wait for the "Midnight Buffet". Most ships stopped having the "Midnight Buffet...and also they stopped having the "Grand Gala Midnight Buffet" at the end of the cruise...how sad. We also love to attend the "Captain's Cocktail Party"...but on our last cruise, (The MS Carnival Glory), it was the most disorganized party that we've ever attended. Yea we are also "Suckers" of the Carnival photographers too. We buy them all... But one cruise...I took a photo of one of their ship's Photographers...and tried to gain $22.00 from him for an 8 x 10 glossy...Thanks again...Dave & Diane...

Just off "Liberty" where we enjoyed American Table, with table cloths every night. Menu was much better than I had feared, and I TOTALLY enjoyed it, each and every night. NO PROBLEMS! I enjoyed the fact that you could order the side dishes that you wanted, instead of getting standard side dishes that come with each entree. Works much better, IMO, and far less waste of unwanted food. We enjoyed the usual deserts, and appetizers.
