Default To the Dock

We just booked the Valor out of San Juan. Wondering if the airport is close to the docks. I would rather take a cab then rely on the Carnival bus service.
Anyone out there have any info? How about cost?

Yes, plenty of cabs at the airport, about 30 minute drive, depending on traffic. Once you pick up your luggage, there is a taxi stand inside where you will get a ticket and then proceed outside and get in the taxi line. They also charge you per bag...It has been a few years since I cruised out of San Juan, but figure around $30 plus tip....It is much easier and quicker than the cruiseline's transfers.

Definitely do not want to take the cruise line transfers - cost more and you have to wait until the bus gets there, then wait until they fill it up.

Taxi is about $20 plus $1 a bag. There's a line outside of the baggage claim and you can always find someone else going to the same ship that will want to share a taxi van (same price).

Same thing when going back to the airport - lots of taxis and everyone is willing to share a ride.
