Default Help pls! 1 nt. cruise(SEA-Vanc.) info needed

Hi CruiseMates, As I was meandering through cruise sites today I came upon a 1 night Sun.Sept 25/05 cruise on Sapphire Princess from Seattle to Vancouver(where we live). I researched on how to get to Seattle cheaply: on Amtrak-actually it is a bus I think! (C$85 total-with kids half price and using my AAA discount). The cruise is about C$100/pp(taxes and fees make up 75% of that ). I just phoned Princess and asked about info on what happens re:dinner, entertainment, heated pool, kids club.
Does anyone have any helpful info about these mini-mini cruises???
Another concern is how do you get from bus/train stn. to pier in Seattle??!
There is a drawback with it being a Sun.night and we all go to work/school the next day.
If we don't decide to do this(save that money for a Caribbean cruise!!lol), I would still be interested in people's info for future reference on these mini-cruises.
Thank-you in advance. Brenda in Vancouver

I can only help you with one aspect....there is a covered, heated pool on the Sapphire! And it should be open!

There is a simple answer:

9/24 one night sailing on the H.A.L. Zaandam leaving from Vancouver to Seattle as a one night cruise. Then return on Saphire Princess. We are doing this turn around and it should be fun!

If you ARE going to motor it one way, usually, if you shop around, Avis or Hertz will have a mid-size car rental for less than $75 as a one-way including drop off charges. That beats taking the bus and the arduous process of customs because they unload the entire bus before going through customs at the border.

I still think cruising both ways is your best bet if you can make it work for your family.

Sounds like a lot of money to put out for one night on a ship. Add it all up, I bet you'll be shocked. I always find these 1 and 2 day cruises are really not worth the money.

We've done 1,2, & 3 night cruises as little weekend getaways. I find them to be less expensive than driving to the coast for the weekend, when you add up hotels, meals, etc. Just trade-offs I guess!

There is nothing better than setting sail on a lovely cruise ship I.M.H.O.

And the good thing is these short cruises still add up to past passenger perks!

(I think my reply to this post was lost as I do not see it.)
ChuckPalm-what a good idea!! Enjoy your backtoback cruise!
Lombard!
I think we have decided to save our money and not do this minicruise, but will definitely remember CP's great idea!!
