To me that is why a note is important so that no one needs to spend time trying to understand what happened we would know and move on. With no note the possibility of a crime makes us look closely. This is from the article; which is why we feel they have family.

The FBI, which is investigating their disappearance, plans to interview passengers and crew and the couple's family, agency spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said Saturday.

Kat, myself and most on here are compassionate and caring people. It's not a bloody accident for Looky Loos as you say. It is just some of us caring about the famly left behind .

Just like with Luanne, we CARE and are there for her. Not Looky Loos when we ask about her and her family during this tragic time for her.

Yes, she posted her horrible loss. How do we really know that the family of this elderly doesn't appreciate concern for them at this time?

It's just what I see. I am a nurse and have dealt with suicide a great deal, and accidents, when I used to work emergency, we saw it all the time. It is only normal to sit and wonder, just like we did when a couple recently in Montreal who were high profile, very educated, seemingly no real mental health issues, not in bad health both took their life. It was a shock to the community, and alot of time was spent discussing "what could we have done? was there something we missed that was clear in order to not miss it in future". It is only normal when you see a headline like this that one would say "gee what happened"? This forum is a forum of people who stop by and talk like they are out having a tea with some one. Therefor I do not classify talk of these kinds of things as a looky loo. No one was offensive, no one ripped any one apart, no one made fun of the couple, their life, or any thing like that. It actually makes me smile because I thought to myself, is it only the people who coment having the looky loo? What about the people reading?

Exactly like ogling a horrible accident as you drive by and are disappointed that the autorities have covered the mangled bodies. Very symptomatic of what is wrong with today's thrill seeking, soap opera mentality. Sorry ladies, but that's the way I see it. It's a major flaw in our society. Created by TV andd Movies. IMHO.

It is Cruise News and we are discussing it. Anytime someone OB's it makes the news and this case is unusual in that they both went over and because of their age. Enquiring minds want to know.

Yes you are guilty of it, since you did after all enter this thread, even though it clearly was about something you think we should not discuss or should not be discussed. I remember once, a neighbour telling my mother how terrible it was that every one was watching over at another house where there had been some going's on. How ever she herself was glued to her window watching.......That spoke volumes.

I think that is what you may not understand, because of the line of work you were/are in. You come into contact with dishonest people who just don't really care about others lives or they would not be in court.

It is human nature to look at a fire or an accident. That is a given.

Gossip...well that is for people who are insecure and need a lift by making sure that others know of a scandle or an affair . That is not what I have read here at all. It is compassion.

It is still very sad and it is over. We will never know what happened because nothing was found. And if there was a note...it is not news worthy to the Media. Another shame.

My point merely was that they stopped the search over a week ago. The Bureau will put out a final report in a few weeks, then it will be case closed. It will probably conclude: probable suicide.

It depends upon the policy and the laws of the state in which they bought the policy. Some states do not allow exclusion of a suicide that occurs more than three years after the date of the policy.

We just want to be certain it wasn't murder. As this happened on a ship I have sailed. I'm a West Coast cruiser and may cruise this ship and ports again. It would be nice to know for certain that crewmember did not murder the couple and throw them overboard. If protecting my own safety is ghoulish, then I'm a ghoul.

I'm just curious to hear the conclusions of the investigative team. I guess we could call it morbid curiosity. I guess that's why we have so much reality TV these days! I've been watching the new drama 24. It's very intriguing. And the new James Patterson book.....a great thriller for the ladies.

The fact that they found the cabin door double locked from the inside is a pretty good indicator that it is not a murder by a member of the crew. Even a member of the crew would not be able to set the double locks from outside of the cabin.

Of course, it's possible that the husband dumped his wife overboard and then jumped himself or vice versa, making it a murder-suicide....

But we also can rule out a murder-suicide by a member of the crew by the fact that no members of the crew were reported missing.

However, I would not have know that unless this thread was started and the media reported on what happened. Now that I know it was a suicide I don't need to know anything else about it. I hope the family is left in peace (by the media) to deal with their grief. Out of respect to the family this is my last post on this thread.
