Default Assistant Purser

I'm looking for a job as an Assistant Purser on a cruise ship.
I was told by a friend that www.saltwaterjobs.com is a job board for the entire shipping industry. Has anyone heard of them?

It's about time someone has developed a one-stop-shop for this industry.

I doubt anyone of the cruise lines let you start as a chief purser, entry levels are more likely to be 2nd purser.

You should look into NCL. On NCL the pursers are called financial accountants, I was hired as a Assistant Financial Accountant. Also, when I was hired I was also told that the Assistant Financial Accountant is the highest level (in the finance department) that they will normally hire outside of the company. I am leaving for my first contract on Saturday, I will be on the Norwegian Pearl up in Alaska. If you have any question about the hiring process on NCL, don't hesitate to ask!
