Okay, we are going on our first cruise in a couple of weeks. We will be on Carnival Fantasy and my dh is worried about how much he will be spending on beer. Do they have buckets and does anyone know how much they are?? Thanks.

Yes they do have buckets. They contain 4 beers and depending on the type/size of beer cost will vary. Example: a single 16 oz Budweiser is aprox $5.50 while it seems like I remember the bucket of four being aprox $18. 12oz will be slightly less but I do not remember the price. This includes tip. All bar beverages have a 15% tip added to purchase price. Also be aware that local tax (City) is added if you purchase before getting into international waters. That might add another 30 cents per beer to the price.
Carnival allows each passenger to bring one bottle of wine onboard (no beer).
Don't forget the corkscrew. Also don't forget you can't fly with these items in your carry on. If you take it to dinner they will charge you a corkage fee (probably $10) A bottle of Berringer White Zin that you can buy at Wallmart for $5 goes for about $28 in the dining room.
This info may be off slightly but is in general accurate as of our cruise on the Freedom 12/07.
I don't think Fantasy has the automated system for you to check your bill on the TV but you can go to the pursers desk and ask for a copy as many times as you would like. That way you can keep tabs on what you have spent and also ensure that there are no mistakes in the bill that you will have to deal with on debarcation day.
Those who have $2000.00 in fees are the ones who bought a large amount of expensive excursions, shopped and bought a lot of gifts on the ship, photos, spa works, it can add up if you aren't watching it.
