Disney allows you to bring a bottle of wine aboard for each day at sea?
I listened to a disney cruiser who said they allowed passengers to bring a bottle of wine for each day of the cruise. I'm going on a 14 day cruise. If this is true I should be stocking up for this cruise. I doubt what she says but I wonder if it could be true? November 3rd, 2012 12:13 PM

That's the one good thing about Disney, you can bring whatever alcohol you want as much as you want.

On our 7-night cruise, I brought 1/2 gallon of tequila and a 12-pack of beer, then later brought another 12-pack of beer.

It was funny to see people with a case of beer strapped on top of their roll-on luggage.

Just keep in mind that they do charge a corkage fee if you bring your own bottle of wine to the dining room.

When on vacation, yep!

Sounds like a lot, but it's really not when figuring a 7-night cruise. We each have our 3 beers and 3 shots a day! One for happy hour, one for dinner, and one after dinner.

I always like to tell the story about when a group of us took our daughter on a cruise to celebrate her enlistment. (3 days after we got back - she went off to Navy bootcamp! In fact, she just finished her 7 years last week and re-enlisted for another 6 years. We're very proud of her.)

Anyway, there were 9 of us and we ran up a bar bill ......

You ready for this?

Totaling $3600!!!

Sounds like we stayed drunk 24/7. But when you break it down, it wasn't really a big deal. With beers running $6 - $7 each and mixed drinks about $9, it doesn't take long to add up. In fact, it actually came out to be only $57 per person per day. And when you figure 15% gratuities are automatically added, it comes out to about $48 a day or about 5 or 6 drinks per person per day, especially when you figure the kids (7 out of the 9 of us) were partying until 2:00am every night! Doesn't sound like much now. That's why we always like to say we ran up a bill of $3600 - sounds pretty bad. But hey, if you're going to send off your only daughter into the military, it's a great way to party for a week!

I'll be taking advantage of this policy next August.

I'll be taking a nice bottle of rum...
