2 Adults and 2 preschoolers in an inside stateroom?
Would you do it? Did you do it (and survived)? Would you do it again?
As long as there is a place to sleep for us four (the kids will be almost 3 and almost 5 at time of travel so would need actual beds as opposed to bringing in a PNP or crib) we are considering getting the least expensive cabin possible.
We really want and feel we need a vacation and this one is already pushed out to April of 2013 so if we can make it even more affordable, we won't have to push it out anymore! lol
Call a cruise travel specialist agency, and they can really walk you through what the best cabin/location is for you. If you get one with the pull down bunk, and, use the couch, that will give you more valuable floor space.

My son and his wife did this with a 4- and 6-year old. They had the standard queen bed, and the kids were on pull-down bunks on the side walls. No problems at all, except for the one night when one of the kids dropped his stuffed frog on my sleeping son.
To make it easier, PACK LIGHTLY! And keep everyone's stuff organized and out of the way.
Personally, that does not sound like my idea of a good time. I waited till the kids were a bit older and booked 2 cabins. When the boys were younger we did plenty, just not family cruising. But hey, that's just my take on it...
I will be cruise in 2.5 weeks with 3 adults and 3 small children in two cabins. My husband and I will keep the 7 month old, and my mom will take the 2 and 4 year old next door to us. Its not exactly like your situation, but I still expect it to be a little crazy, hahaha! I will post details on how everything goes when we get home
