Default Boarding Logistics - Same Cabin, Different Boarding Times?

My wife and I are taking my Grandma on the Norwegian Pearl to Alaska later this year, but my wife will be heading straight to the pier from an out of town trip (we live in Seattle). I'd like to head to the boat early, so we can get Grandma squared away and have a shot at signing up for the murder mystery dinner. We'll hopefully be sharing a courtyard villa (big splurge, Grandma's not getting any younger).

1) How far in advance of the departure time can you board?

2) Can my Grandma and I board several hours before my wife even though all 3 of us are berthed in the same cabin?

Thanks for the help!
