What is the largest amount you ever won at a cruise casino? I heard that the onboard casino is mostly for entertainment and they don't have big payouts, is this true?

DH won $800 on our Crown cruise on the slots. I won $700 on Bingo on the Inspiration. That was a long time ago when they divided the $ up according to how much they took in for each game. I hate the way the ships do Bingo now; $100 1st game, $150 2nd game, etc. They are rakin' in the dough now!

No such thing as a stupid question. How else would we learn? DH stands for Dear or Darling Husband. So DW would mean Dear or Darling Wife and DS and DD; son and daughter, etc.

A few years ago we cruised on the Carnival Spirit, I won $1800.00 on a quarter slot machine. That was the biggest slot win I had ever had. Way back in the day when they did raffle tickets in the casino to win a cruise, I was lucky that time too. No such luck other then that but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for our cruise in October. :-)

First night won playing BJ and craps.
Third night won playing Video Poker, hit a Royal Flush. Best part was I was playing for fifty cents and not the quarters that I thought I was playing, hench $ 2,000, nice mistake/
I think the payout is the same as any casino, if you are talking machines. I see progressives and have seen where the ship has not reset the machines between cruises and the progressives are high.
What I saw on the Crown last month was that the max bet was 10 coins on the quarter video poker instead of 5 coins... not that you had to play 10, but you did if you wanted the big money.
I play video poker and the odds are much the same as the Indian casinos here in Calif.
The most I ever won was this past Feb. .. back to back cruises after paying all expenses ... and paying for a great painting on the island etc ... I came home with 12K more than I left with ... I left with 1k for the casino and came home with 13K
That was the best ever ... I only know how to play backjack

I won't play machines...only blackjack. I'll toss a couple bucks on the roulette wheel if I have had a few drinks and feel like thinning my wallet a little.
I've heard that craps has the greatest odds for the player but I just get intimidated and chicken out.
I watched a friend of mine start with 25 dollars and walk away with 3,000 about 30 minutes later.

Peace through superior firepower.
I sailed on Carnival Legend to E. Caribbean in 06. I put $10.00 in a quarter slot machine and hit $3,750.00. We weren't even in the water that long from NYC. The machines were just turned on! Needless to say, I was a very happy camper!
i walked off ncl GEM last march with $700 in cash winnings from the slots .... almost all were won on the nickel slots...and i have now booked the GEM for a 1/14/09 cruise thru the casino at sea , they have taken appox. $500 off of our 2 tickets each... Yipee !!
I went on the Sensation in May 08 and I won on a slot 1200.00 while I was waiting for them to get my information for taxes I put money in the slot beside me and 1st pull hit 600.00. I have always won a good bit going out to sea and for the next few days and then on our way back into port or on a "all day at sea" I don't win.
I won $600. the beginning of the night then another $600. And by the end of the week I walked off with $2,000. in winnings. That was in 2007 on the liberty carnival cruise.
Next cruise two years later I left it all there. I was just in Vegas for a week won $800.
in the beginning of the week and left it all in Vegas! I only play slot machines. And I only gamble twice a year on money I don't to have when I go home.
As for bingo I stop playing it on the ships. I think it is a disgrace what the pay outs are.
It is a rip off .... Maybe if they upped the prize money I would be there every day.
Like buying a painting on those ships. It is really shocking to see people to fall for that rip off.
Since my last post in April I have now actually won $1.2 million dollars on a ships table over 7 days. Table was closed at 2:30 each night but we the big players picked up again back where we had left off the previous night at 20:30.
They thought I would lose as the nights went on, but I had a plan, and it worked.
An easy table if you know how to play it. If anyone wants advice, then I can tell you my first three steps to taking $1.2 million dollars off a ship. I did..
