6 to 5 Blackjack anyone?

At land based casinos, '6 to 5' blackjack is becoming more common. Has anyone run into this game at a cruise ship casino?

It will be interesting to see what happens when some cruise line(s) try ‘6 to 5’ blackjack. I hope the players resist this change. However, if the profit on blackjack goes up, I’m afraid we will see this change spread to all cruise casinos. I have enjoyed blackjack on HAL. However, if HAL switches to ‘6 to 5’, my blackjack playing days are over.

6:5 Blackjack refers to the payout for a blackjack. If you bet $5 you will receive $6 if you have blackjack. Most tables pay out 3:2. This means if you bet $5 your payout will be $7.50.

6:5 is most common for single deck games but some casinos are using it for regular, multi deck, shoes.

It increases the house advantage about 1.5%.

I remember the days when the blackjack payout was 2:1.
