I think friends of mine had a lanai cabin about a year ago. I will check with her later and get their opinion as to the pros and cons.

Henry - here are some of the comments my friend made about the Lanai cabin.

It was just SO-SO

Wouldn't do it for more than 7 DAYS

If you have mobility problems, like my friend does, it was convenient to just walk out onto the lower prom deck - they were on the Veendam I believe.

There are 2 deck chairs reserved for you right outside your cabin

Cabin is smaller - they have taken away the drawers from the vanity.

You have to have 2 entry cards one for the front door and one for the sliding door out to the deck. You always had to make sure you had both with you.

Heavy sliding doors - nearly got her fingers caught once.

Hope this helps in your decision.

During the day, the one way glass works well for people to not be able to see into your cabin. At night, when you put on lights, you have to be very careful to keep curtains closed as people can see into your cabin.
