My husband and I are cruising on the Sapphire on that date....
I really wanted to see and enjoy Maui, but I don't know what the ship has planned because we'll get there on Christmas day.... I won't be able to buy anything because all the shops will be closed... But I'm wondering if at least a few stores will be open... Do u know? I'd hate to have to stay on the ship...
My dh and I along with another couple will be on this cruise. We are all soo excited! This will be my dh's and I second rt crusie to Hawaii and our friends first cruise.
I am sure that even though we will be in Maui on Christmas Day they will have shops open. I can't imagine that they will want to miss out on the business brought on land by a cruise ship being on board. We actually booked a whale watching trip on our own for this port. So something will be open and operational.
This is also our second cruise to Hawaii..... I'm so glad u responded... since you and ur friends have booked a tour on Christmas day, then I'm pretty sure (like u said) some shops will be opened.... We took a tour the last time we were in Maui (that wasn't on a Christmas) and I'm sorry we did because it wasn't worth it.... and we missed out on all the fun right there at port.... We're cruising with friends as well. Our friends haven't cruised to Hawaii before either.... so this is going to be more than exciting to them..... I'm happy to be going again as there's some things I want to do that I didn't do before..... It won't be long before we're on the ship sailing away..... Happy cruising!!!!

Our docs are printed and some clothes are already placed in the csa (cruise staging area).
I checked on Hilo Hatties website and they are open on Christmas Day from 9AM to 5PM. Perfect timing with the ship in port. I am sure that other shops will be open as well.
