dress code for kids?

We'll be first time cruisers on the Dawn for the 11 day Western Carribean cruise. I know the dress code says no jeans, shorts, t-shirts, but does this apply to my 6 & 8 yr olds as well?

31 days and and counting!!

Hi njburly,

After 5PM in the dining rooms this does apply to children, too. Does everyone follow the dress code? No.

Fern is right, not everyone will follow, but quite often they get turned away. I don't think I would take a chance; think of how embarrassed your kid would be. For boys, just stick with the docker type of pants and either a polo type shirt or a plaid sport shirt. The girls: dresses or any kind of pants other than shorts and jeans. Just my advise, you may want to try getting away with jeans, absolutely NO SHORTS!!!! 8)

So even freestyle cruise require attire? I was hoping to get by in my pajamas and bedroom slippers...bummer!

Beleive it or not, on our last Celebrity cruise there were people, one couple particularly that did come to the breakfast buffet in the robes provided by the cruise line to be used in the cabins only. If I were you I would skip the bedroom slippers, but your jamies could be quite interesting.

We're going on the Dawn 2/12/06 too ! First time cruisers ..
kids 11 & 13 ... looking forward to having a great time!
