Question Epic Cirque Dinner show

Should we tip even though we are paying extra to see the show?

IMO, no. The server's working there should be covered by the "automatic" tips and/or the charge for the show.

You really shouldn't ever tip extra for any service on a cruise ship except for room service, and possibly a massage therapist if you want to make sure they get a personal tip.

Never add a tip to a drink or other ticket you sign, the service charge has already been figured in.

Paul, Does that include the upscale speciliaty restaurents? I usually leave $10 (for 2 people) on the table. I do feel that I'm paying enough ($30 or $35) If the servers are getting some of the surcharge, I'll gladly stop. Jimbo

I am sorry to say that the charge you pay to dine there already includes a service charge so there really is no need to leave an additional tip. Furthermore, anytime you give a tip the server is expected share it with the entire crew, so you $20 just got thrown into a largwer pool.

If you ever want to tip someone personally on a ship, make sure you hand them the cash discretely - personally and in private. And keep in mind ships have many surveillance cameras.

You basically have to palm it to them.

That's the truth folks.

I almost always tip in the speciality restaurants on US ships...I feel sorta embarrassed into it as they are so GOOD. I fill in the tip line on thjr bill.
