Default Group Rates?

Does anyone know what Royal Caribbean's group policy is? Are there any discounts or perks for having more than 8 staterooms? Has anyone done this before?

I see they have a royal reunions package and it looks like you pay extra for the perks once you've qualified as a group. I know that on Carnival they give complimentary discounts and perks onboard for having the group and I was wondering if Royal Caribbean did anything similar. Thanks...

We did 8 last year, that is not really considered a "group" to RCCL. My TA worked hard and got us a 1 hr open bar buffet one night, champagne for all in the rooms, etc... but no massive perk's or discounts.

The "normal" requirement to qualify for group perks is a minimum of 8 cabins, sometimes it requires 10.

For every 8 people booked you should be able to get the equivalent of value of 1 free berth. So.. 8 cabins booked, you'd get value of 2 berths.

PLUS there are normally additional perks available to choose from, such as shipboard credits, cocktail parties, photo credits, etc.

My advice is to find a travel agent experienced in group bookings and work with them to set up a package of group pricing and perks that satisfies you.

Kuki,

You are correct. We did get 1 free inside stateroom ($599) value. Since we all got balconies, I just spread the $500 over the 8 couples. So, we each got a $75.00 credit.

Not that they do not do anything, but I think you need a LOT of cabin's to get GOOD free stuff!

Not complaining, it was a cruise!

Thanks everyone. I'm glad they have group perks that you don't have to pay for. Their policy sounds very similar to Carnival, which I know about because I will be on a group cruise abord the Pride this summer.
