In Room Internet on Voyager Class Ships

Does it exist? I really like this service option on the Radiance class ships.

Yes, you have the same option on Voyager class ships although with a slightly different hardware.

Question: What is the speed like for the in-room Internet connection? Is it closer to broadband speeds or dial-up speeds? Thanks for your input!

Unfortunately not close to broadband speeds if you are used to that

On the radiance ships, the speed was similar to dial up - 48kbs. Not great for web surfing, but good for e-mail synchronization.

Roland (or anyone else) have you ever tried Skype or some other form of IP telephony on board? Did it work well?

Thanks for the info Roland! Selctsys, I've never used any IP telephony product onboard a cruise ship. However, at just 48 kbps, I doubt this would even be an option. If the connection is too slow for basic web surfing, then it's way too slow for any kind of voice over IP connection!

I didn´t even try Skype with the low speed, for the reason you mention.
