Would you trust DTW with your daughter?

As many of you know my friend Amy & I will be cruising on the same ship as Dave The Wave.
Dave has offered to buy us drinks, be our tour guide for the islands & have us over to his cabin for late night balcony parties.
My mother has been reading these boards lately & thinks this man is not to be trusted. She feels he is taking too much interest in women half his age & is in a mid-life crisis. Amy agrees.
So my question is:
Would you trust this man



around your daughter?
And please give the reason for your vote.

I would trust Dave the Wave. Even though I have seen your picture and you seem quite attractive, I believe that he would have your best interests in mind and want to show you the best time on your cruise vacation. After all, who is the "King of the Seas"? Dave the Wave! Bob

I would not trust DTW with my [non-existant][underage] daughter. He's just a little too much of a party animal, and I remember myself in my late teenage years. However, a fully legal daughter, sure =o).

I have had the pleasure of finally meeting DTW in person; my BF and I spent a night out of the town; met some of his friends and also spent the next day on his boat and I would trust him! He is in real life as he appears on this board. So Carona Girl, if your mom is still nervous she can PM me if she wants to.
DTW is your professional "average Joe" who happens to always carry a camera and does have a great zest for life. ....

the better question to ask would be would we trust you to not take advantage of DTW (VBG) !!It's like when you were in high school and you know the boys that talk the most, do the least. It's the quiet ones that you have to worry about and DTW and the word quiet do not fit into the same sentence.

DTW may come in handy for you if some of the younger men closer to your age become persistent about gaining your attention, you can tell them that DTW is your father and also a Miami vice cop. It works in reverse also if some of the older ladies try to pursue DTW (as they always do on a Royal Caribbean ship because of his diamond status with all the perks) you can tell them to "back away" from your "cruise Daddy"

Besides for all of his talk, remember he can't stay awake past 8 pm when he is cruising. Have you ever notice that all of his pictures that he post are taken during the day

DTW is way past his mid life crisis stage but does carry a gold American Express card but also pays child support for a total of 11 kids, so I think he's pretty safe so enjoy your cruising experience with DTW

In defense of myself, I must say you will just have to see for yourself. But listen to MSBJ and Bob and some of what Venice said. I am always a gentleman.

DTW..maybe your sons should do an online poll asking the question from their perspective (VBG)

I suspect that once onboard all parties involved will pursue each age appropriate activities and will probably see very little of each other but it's good to know when fellow CM'ers are onboard

Dave The Wave has excellent references...when he and Brittany Spears were together you did not see Brittany acting all crazy like she is now (VBG). I'm sure Brittany's parents wish that DTW was still in the picture

So DTW, what other sports to you coach your sons and their friends in ? Coaching is an excellent way of being involved with your sons, plus you know who their friends are..that's good parenting skills !!

Perhaps you should invite Carona Girl's parents to your home for a pre cruise "shake down" inspection. Once they meet you and find out that you are actually a nice, safe, man they might feel differently about the upcoming cruise that their daughter will happen to be on the same ship with you along with 2000+ others.

You can also have Brittany and her kids over at the same time so Carona can see that you maintain good relationships with younger women.

I'm beginning to have more concern for your well being on this cruise then the other way around (VBG)

Yes, that was Tropicana Field. That was the pre-game parade of all the little league teams. So it was 45 minutes before the game. There was a few more people there than the picture indicates. But not many.... 8)

I have never met DTW except on the borads. He seems to have a good sense of humor, likes to party, and takes good care of his sons.

I would trust him.

Certainly, I have adult friends that are a little too lenient about meeting people they have "talked" with on various boards etc.
While I have met two people in person that I have talked with here:
one is Dave The Wave: I met him at a public place and I had my boyfriend with me - needless to say, all for naught because he is a good person... likewise I am sure Dave let his friends know he was meeting new people, as we ran into some of his friends at the club....

I've got the answer !!!!! In exchange for keeping an eye on all parties, Carona Girl's parents will purchase the two connecting cabins on each side of DTW's cabin and their daughter's cabins...and several of us will go on the cruise to watch them...Carona's Dad will also purchase one of those ankle bracelets that give off an alarm to her Dad if DTW comes within 25 feet of his daughter or her room. If the alarm goes off the NBC dateline reporter that does all those shows about internet predators will come out of DTW's closet with his camera crew and we can all see it next week on Dateline NBC..

As a parent I understand where they are coming from but I think there is very little concern for alarm. After all, we all know where DTW lives, the name of his boat, C&A number and his ex-wife's e-mail. I would be more concern about my daughter and her friend being around people that we don't know those things about !

Thanks for all your support. I would be more worried about my daughters roaming around Jamaica unescorted. I am quite harmless, really.

And to set the record straight, I am NOT twice her age and am not in a mid-life crisis either. I am just stuck in the 80's.

You got to be joking us. Asking folks on an Internet board to give a thumbs up or down to somebody that 99.99% of us have never sat face-to-face with.

If her parents and her friend fell that way, she should have booked another cruise months ago.

It sure looks to me that both of them were having a good time in "The Party" thread. So what is with all the concern now?
