You give your luggages to the ship porters and your carry-ons will be
x-rayed when you enter the lobby.

What do the ship porters do with them. I want to bring a bottle of liquor with me for at night caps on the balcony and I have heard they are sninkers about it. I thought I would but it in a water bottle in my luggage- any ideas

They sort the luggages to be delivered to your cabin. I've packed bottled waters before and never had a problem, but then again they are sealed and un-opened. If you pack a liquor that's been transfered to a water bottle, you ran a risk of it getting spilled on transport, coz' luggages get thrown on handling. I suggest you post a question on carrying liquors onboard and somebody else might be able to help.

I don't think I would chance putting it in something that might spill. Just leave it in the bottle and pack it under a bunch of clothes and maybe bubble wrap it. Sounds like I have done this before but I haven't. I bring a couple 6 packs of Diet Coke but that is all. I bet Dave the Wave can help you with your question. I remember him talking about it before in another thread...

Come on DTW...out of hiding and give us your best advice. 8) I don't believe they'll rummage through your luggage and you'll find your booze intact when you arrive at your room.

don't hide it in a water bottle, just bubble wrap it and put it in your suitcase

Default Bringing Liquor Onboard

By all means, wrap it in bubble wrap. To be extra safe, put the bubble wrapped bottle in a 2 gallon ziploc bag.

On my last two cruises, I had taken a huge bottle of Jagermeister. It fit into a 2 gallon ziploc (I honestly didn't know they made them that big!), then I wrapped it in a beach towel, and put it between clothes in my suitcase. It was fine.

I have to ask... Did you drink it all?

. Yes. First trip the women I was with were not into Jager, so I had enough left to take it with me again last December when I took my oldest niece on a 4-day for her 21st birthday, and we wound up doing Jager bombs the whole trip...

OMG! To be 21 again!

I DON'T THINK SO!

Wezie! You are funny!

I got up my nerve after PMing Dave the Wave, so it is all HIS Fault!

I was more afraid of getting caught with a cuban cigar that I had brought back for the husband...I had myself so worked up the last night, I could not sleep. I was afraid I would wind up in a foreign prison, lose my clearance, lose my job, and have to work in a McDonald's to support myself and never be able to afford to cruise again!

So, getting caught with the Jager would have been a breeze compared to that!

I could relate to that.. I would probably just be FREAKING out too but I would probably do that for some reason......

Work at a McDonalds for the rest of your life... where in the prison nah! that wouldn't be soo much fun.........as if they have a McDonalds in Prison... I wouldn't know...

Hope he enjoyed his Cigar... Next time bring home more than ONE...... If your going to get Caught Get Caught GOOD

Thanks for replying.
