Default upgrading Cabin

I booked a seaview cabin on a short cruise with Royal Caribbean a couple of months ago and have since found out that I could have got a reduction on a balcony cabin with my platinum status which I have just got from cruises taken on celebrity . The prices have gone up quite a bit since I booked so will I pay the price of a balcony cabin now or do they have separate pricing for the upgrade. I would be grateful if anyone could help me with this and if I have to pay price quoted for balcony cabins now would it be best to wait for sale etc as this is not until October next year.

Canx your existing reservation and rebook using your diamond status.

The OP says they are platinum.

Anyway, there is no separate pricing for upgrades,so you have to book using the current price.........if there is a sale,it is usually for new bookins and you wont be able to take advantage of it unless you cancel now and hope there is a sale..............but I wouldnt take a chance....You can not cancel at the time of the sale just to rebook to get the new price--they wont let you)

Book now,use your platinum discount and continue to monitor for price drops.......you can get those(unless like I said they are for new bookings only)..........

PH8 has the right idea, book your upgrade now using your platinum status, and watch for sales, you have up until your final payment due date to cancel without penalties. If you do find a sale, make so sure that you read all the fine print regarding restrictions, taxes etc, and make sure the sale is on the EXACT cabin catagory and LOCATION that you want.
