Older Single Gentlemen?

I'm taking my mother on 5 day Baja cruise on the Radiance that departs from San Diego on October 19, 2009. Since this will be her first cruise, I thought this might be a good starter cruise. She asked me, if I thought many single men her age cruised? I told here hmm.... I haven't cruised much, and mostly see couples, but that doesn't mean single men don't cruise, right?

I didn't want to book a "speciality" cruise... for the +55 or singles only. This is a mother/daughter cruise.... I want it to be memorable for her...but meeting a nice gentleman or two for nice conversation would definitely be a plus... especially on her birthday.

We have great fun when we're together and I'm looking forward to this time with her so much.

You might find someone since you are sailing in October, less young families are traveling then, but there are some Cruise lines that employ Gentlemen Hosts, to provide a dancing partner for single ladies, Google and you'll find several, that might be a more reliable choice next time. I've cruised a lot and haven't seen any single men around, sorry...
