balcony privacy

Question regarding Oasis of the Sea, are there ocean view balconys exposed to others from above? If so what deck should we not book on?
My wife and I enjoy sitting outside in the privacy of our balcony in the nude. On a few ships we have sailed on, a few decks had the balconys "pushed" out further from the ships side. Which gave the people above a nice view, of US! From the picture of this class of ship, it looks like its all the same size from bottom to top.

You may be referring to the hump cabins; which are midship; where the ship juts out. Those balconies do jut out further; if you are in a normal balcony cabin facing the water you should be fine.

While you may be concerned of what people above or below may see... consider the neighbors on each side of you ! They too can stretch and """peek""" around the corner and have a full view of your au natural sunbathing. The balconies are private, but only to a certain degree

Or don't forget people just lean out a bit on their balconies. Instinct is to look right and left. I would say someone is going to see you no matter what.

Oh you remind me - we were on the Majesty a few years ago. Docked in Nassau across from a Disney ship. They have balconies and we were on the upper outside deck just staring at the ship. Some fellow came to the window wrapped in a towel. His wife and child were there. I guess he didn't think cause he dropped the towel. There was a lot of laughing on the Majesty.

Well, my wife and I both feel that if somebody goes out of there way to look around the partition, then its there own fault if they are offended. Besides you can almost always tell when your neighbors are out on there balcony. In which case we stay back near the door and keep a towel handy.

No one is condemning you for wanting to sunbathe au' natural... its just that a cruise ship balcony is not the venue many choose to do this at. I just hope your neighbors are not nosey and child free !

Enjoy your cruise and your balcony. you paid for a balcony might as well enjoy it.

If people do get a "sneak peek" not to worry mostly likely you will never see those people again.

That is good advice. I have stepped out on the veranda without wearing much at all.

I guess if the balcony is oceanview it's ok however a boardwalk/central park balcony is a different story.

Good point! You do have to be a bit more discreet if you have a centrl park or boarwalk cabin.

Thanks AF1!!

That was last year on the Liberty in the casino on St. Paddy's day. The guy was a leprechaun for most of the day and alot of cruisers were taking pictures with him.
I thought it would make a great profile picture in the future!

I have heard of people that found that out after being on-board for a cuople of days.
