Re: Re: RCCL Commercial Song

You know, I've been wondering about that song since way before I even thought of taking a cruise. I kept hearing it as "last one alive", which seemed rather extreme for a cruise line, even one with...

Re: Re: Need to buy some binoculars-any suggestions?

One thing to think about when choosing the power is how steady your hands are. I find using 10s I have some trouble tracking quickly moving objects.

Re: Re: Re: unlocking your 'zip ties'?

As far as I can tell small plain nail clippers have always been acceptable. However, if they have any kind of fold-out nail file, even if it's only an inch long, that may not be OK, unless things...

Re: Re: hotels close to pier in san pedro

Personally, I might be inclined to stay by the waterfront in Long Beach. It's a fairly short straight shot from there to San Pedro, and it's kind of a neat little area, with shops and restaurants by...

Ramada Limited Vancouver questions

Has anyone here stayed at the Ramada Limited in Vancouver? If so, how was it? It seems to be conveniently located near the pier and isn't too expensive, but I notice it doesn't have a restaurant. ...

Re: Re: Dogsledding in Juneau, or Skagway?

Davida, I'm very interested to hear how your excursion goes. We booked the dogsledding in Skagway; thanks to everyone in this thread for your advice!

Re: Should we take our snorkel gear?

I don't know what the rental gear available is like, but my general advice from living in Hawaii for a while is that if you have a nice mask that you like, you should at least bring that. It won't...

Re: Re: Pets on a Transatlantic?

It would seem somehow unfriendly to keep your pet cooped up in a small carrier for any longer than was absolutely necessary to get where you were going. Personally, I'd like to see pets allowed in...

Re: ketchikan excursions

I'm also trying to sort out Ketchican excursions...I noticed that the Frommer's guide has a comment that unless you're _really_ into totem poles, the Totem Bight State Historical Park tour can get...

Re: Re: World's Leading Cruise Lines....

I just ran into this ad...you'd think they'd proofread a bit when changing the image. :-) If anyone's consumed with curiosity, I have attached the image here.

Re: Re: Bon Voyage page

For tr_cruiser--the message board account seems to be separate from the Meet on Board account. I also tried logging in there with my forum login, and it didn't work, and I was able to create a login...

Re: Re: Re: Carry on luggage

At least on the RCI web site, I can't find any baggage size standards (maybe the cruise docs will have some).

Re: Carry on luggage

My small rolling suitcase which I used to use for carryon is now technically too large. If yours still fits the regulations, I say it's the best way to go! These days I carry my wheeled computer...

Silly beverage questions

OK, everyone will undoubtedly be glad to know that I'm _not_ asking how to sneak beverages on board. :-) Instead, I was wondering if it's possible to _buy_ beverages on board for in-cabin...

Dogsledding in Juneau, or Skagway?

I wasn't sure whether to post this on the Royal Caribbean board or here, but ...we're booked on RCCL in early July, and really want to do a glacier flightseeing/dogsledding excursion. The cruiseline...

Re: Re: Whose booked for 2003?? Radiance

We're booked on the Radiance for July 5th--our first cruise! I don't see anyone else in the thread on this sailing, but we must be the cruise right before Ms. Bri's. We'll try not to trash the...

Re: Re: E3 guarantee on Radiance

Thanks for the advice! We are now booked. I can't wait to get our documentation, since it just doesn't seem real yet! Plus, I think I've memorized every word in the brochure and the Frommer's...

E3 guarantee on Radiance

My husband and I are planning to cruise to Alaska July 5th on Radiance for our anniversary. Our TA is holding an E3 guarantee for us. It looks like these cabins are directly above such fun things...

Re: Re: Re: Re: Shoes for Shore Excursions

My all-time favorite sandals for travel are made by Rockport, since they are comfortable, give good arch support, and generally aren't as expensive as Birkenstocks (which I also like). The best...

Re: "RCI customer service"

Just a thought, but since you say you used their web site to email them, is it possible the web form didn't work? I have the worst luck with those things, so I hate it when I'm forced to use them...
