Caribbean shopping

Normally we do not do that much shopping in Caribbean ports . However,I have a question for those who are avid shoppers .

What would you say is a "must" to shop for in St.Thomas and St.Maarten ?

I don't know if there are any Must-Haves to buy at either port, but they are duty-free ports so decent deals could be found. I will say that we got better deals in St.Maarten on leather goods, perfumes & cosmetics, and we got better deals in St. Thomas on liquor.

Nothing I've seen is a "must have".

There used to be deals in St. Marten on electronics but I haven't seen them in years. You can do better online.

The ladies can chime in about jewelry. My wife has bought a couple of things because she liked them and not necessarily because they were must haves or really good deals.

The shopping in the Caribbean is not what it used to be years ago. In fact there is so much available it can become overwhelming. If you have a favorite scent, it will be cheaper, but, it also could be priced as well onboard too. New releases are not allowed to be sold for about 6 months, so old favorites will have to do.

Local artwork is a nice take away...not really any must haves anymore.
Shopping from home has become way too easy.

I don't get it at all, I don't want any of it! My wife will wander about shops buying nothing either, don't understand it...I didn't think anyone actually bought the stuff but we have been on holiday with people who buy expensive jewellery, & watches.
