Hi! My family of four will be in Ocho Rios in December. We are looking for recommendations for the best Carnival shore excursions. It is me, my husband, our son (15), and our daughter (13). We are all in fairly good shape and like a bit of adventure.

If you haven't already done Dunns River falls, you all may enjoy that?? I would recommend just booking through the cruiseline...

I second Dunns River Falls. Definitely a good time. We did a party boat there that allowed us some time on the beach after and then had a party going back to the ship.

Stay close to the port and don't venture out on your own.

I will say ditto for you to go to Dunns River. Check private excursions vs ships tours....there is no need to overpay for this excursion.

Get everybody a pair of beach shoes, you will need them as the rocks are slippery. There is a walkway along side, if by chance someone does not want to walk the rocks, but, it sounds like you all will love the physicality of it..

Booking a private guide won't cost you anymore than booking through the ship from this port as the falls is 5mins drive. However if you do book a private guide you pay $27 to the Falls but what can be added is sight seeing, shopping, beach and lunch stops for $15 more.

I am highly recommended on many boards and one of the reason why is i try to beat every one prices. You get your own private van and no rush

Daughter and I booked with the ship the Cool Runnings excursion loved it so much that husband and I booked it for this Feb.

You would probably enjoy Mystic mountain. Beautiful scenery and they have zip lining and the bobsled ride.
