Smile W. Caribbean / Mayan Ruins, Snorkeling, Etc.

Hello! I just booked a cruise for March to Cozumel, Belize, Isla Roatan, & Costa Maya and was hoping to get some suggestions on things to do.

We are looking into checking out at least one Mayan ruin site. I've done some research and it looks like there are 2 sites that sound promising where you can still climb on some of the ruins, 1 in Belize and the other by Costa Maya (not sure on the names). Since we are going with a cruise I don't really want to take an excursion that is very lengthy, don't want to be in a rush trying to get back on the cruise.

Also, we want to do some snorkeling or something ocean-like. The barrier reef in Belize looks great (too many things to do in Belize to choose from!). Are there any other recommendations for activities in any of these places?

Lastly, do you recommend any companies for excursions? I've never actually booked an excursion through the cruise line (we'll be on Carnival). I booked a separate company once in Grand Cayman and had a good experience so I'd like to weigh my options.

Thanks for any help!
