Default What's with these new ads disguised as threads

We have had three ads in the past week disguised as threads. The report button is not available for these. They have been for Disney, Universal and something about cars. None of these have anything to do with Celebrity Cruises. If this is tolerated by the people running this board, I know for myself I'm outta here.

I already don't like when you put a link in a post that they put an ad in the post as if you as a poster put it there.

Don

These are being added by the Internet Brands ad server. I too don't like them but there really isn't anything that can be done. I was initially thrown off by them and hit the edit button to remove it from a post but then found that it was not part of the original post. I will bring it to the attention of the powers that be and see what happens.

Take care,
Mike

First off, my title should have been disguised.

These ads are their own threads, it appears afte you open them they disappear.

I fixed the title but I do find them a little disgusting so maybe it wasn't a typo but a Freudian slip.

Take care,
Mike

Well...

I had nothing to do with this, and so I also have no control over it.

It is something many forums are trying, I guess being led by the new look of Facebook with its "suggested sponsored posts" that have started popping up all the time.

I am sorry if they bug you. Hopefully it will just be another thing that you learn to ignore before too long, like all the other Internet ads.

The least they could do is make the ads relevant to cruising, what the heck does a motor Oil commercial as a thread have to do with cruising. Funny thing is I know Paul can't do anything about it but these ads as threads are in violation of Cruisemates posting guidelines. Now anyone can post any ad they want, TA's, Cruise lines, etc.

I'm not happy about these ads either . I usually check for new post's and when I find that the new post is an ad I'm NOT happy. This is hard to "ignore".

It's bad enough that if you use Norton this site is "dangerous", now there are ads that are not even helpful!
