Hi CMS, We are back from our Sun Princess cruise. It was nice and relaxing, but we and a lot of other passengers thought that Princess is not the same and seems to be going down hill slowly. It wasn't bad enough not to book another cruise next December on the Sea princess! <<<<<smiling>>>>>> Glad to be back, and happy to hear that everyone seems to be doing OK even Kramer. Enjoy your day, I think I should go to bed now......

Welcome home, Jeanne and Ellis! At your leisure, could you elaborate please on both the positives and negatives of this cruise?

I don't think any cruise line is the same since 9-11. Every line I have been -- 5 to be exact in the last 3 years - on has changed quite a bit to try to be profitable since 9-11. Cruising itself will never be like it used to be, unfortunately.

We did not like Princess either, Celebrity we liked the most followed by RCCL, we are going to try Carnival again since we have read some good reviews lately, last time we sailed CCL in 1990 Fantasy it was a little too wild for us, we saw some statistics that more than half of the people on CCL are now of the Adult crowd, so here we go one more time to check it out.
Took us 3 years to save up for this one, hope it was worth it..
We cannot believe it is only 1 week away

Good Morning All,

Well my shopping trip/jaw specialist trip went well. My friend and I left early Thursday morning. Shopped all day, stopped long enough to see Christmas with the Kranks at 6:15, after the movie shopped some more then back to the hotel. Up early, at the specialist's by 7 out by 9:15 - back to the stores. Drove the two hours back home to arrive just before 6. Unloaded the car, picked up the dog at his Grammies (my mom) went to the Youth Group Meeting. Home about 9:30. Exhausted. We have quite a bit of snow now. Today I face a pile of presents all awaiting gift wrapping. Tonight my husband and I will go see National Treasure - just a chance to get out and do something. We seldom ever go out. My son is in Northeastern Quebec, enjoy a school ski trip. I know he is having a blast. Left yesterday morning and will be back tomorrow night. Daughter will be home in 8 days. She told me last night that she is not doing well in two classes. This whole fiance mess affected some of her last couple of weeks of classes and finals. I'm trying not to be too negative, but would really like to give her a big piece of my mind, but I know that right now it would cause more harm then good. Hopefully next semester she can keep her wits about her.

Hope everyone who leaves today have wonderful cruises.
Welcome home Jeanne and Ellis

Is it Saturday?? Since I've been home from work, the days seem all the same!
Today is tree decorating day at our house. My daughter has the day off, and she is coming over to decorate with her brother, as is the tradition in our house. She's asked if she can bring her "friend", actually her "ex" boyfriend from 4 years ago, who is back in the picture and making a 2nd attempt at being nice. We'll see...
Anyway, I'm hoping the company, the decorating, the holiday music, and the baked cookies will help uplift my mom's mood a little, she is feeling really down both physically and spiritually. So am I for that matter, but maybe the tree decorating today will help!

Welcome back from the Sun Princess! We were on her for my first cruise in Feb-1998. In fact, in recent weeks, I've shown both the professional and home videos of our voyage and made me want to sail on her again. She seemed like such a large ship to me at the time, but since then, we've graduated to the Golden,Grand and Caribbean!
I really enjoyed being on board, and it seemed to be an intimacy about her-string quartet in the Atrium, singer at the white grand piano, and I discovered the Horizon Buffet!
I'm happy you had a relatively good time and will look forward to your review. Lynne
PS. Was she decorated for Christmas?

Welcome home Jeanne and Ellis.

I'm sorry to hear that Princess seems to be slipping in quality. It really does seem that reports like that are becoming the norm on most cruiselines. I wonder if the price increases for the next year will show up in the area of improved service. I sure hope we start hearing more positives. Service and quality are really important to us, and I know they are to most other people too.

Anyway, it's good to have you back and I look forward to pictures and more reports.

I hope you're wrong about Princess, since I'm booked on two more cruises with them!

If the cruiselines increase prices without increasing service, I doubt that will help them.I think all the add-ons, such as charging for ice cream, soda cards, etc., are big negatives.

I just got back from a 8-day cruise on the Carnival Spirit. If you like peace and quiet I don't recommend this one. We had over 650 kids most running all over the ship. The food wasn't the best (I only have the RC to compare it with). They call it the fun ship, I would say fun for 30-40 year olds.

Welcome back! Sorry the cruise wasn't as expected. I was very disappointed in our last cruise also. I had 2 previous RCCL cruises. The food wasn't great and the service over all wasn't good. And the coffee was bad. I am willing to spend more money to get better service but which ship will offer this? I will never touch carnival I think RCCL will be next if we ever cruise again which at this point I doubt. I was thinking Radisson but I hate stuffy places and people who have their noses up in the air.

Looking forward to the review and pictures!
